Glasses as a fashion accessory, yes or no?

Pin It Now!

I’m a die hard fan of specs as a fashion accessory, and have been since probably the 90’s. Back then I used my health insurance rebate to purchase a pair of skinny rimmed Adidas frames with non-prescription lenses installed, much to the confusion of my high school classmates. But still even I was subsequently left confuzzled by last year’s big fad of wearing fashion frames, just—poke your finger right trough—frames, with no pretence at all of a genuine medical need. Could this be an example of fashion run off the tracks? Surely, frames should at least have some kind of lenses in them! In my case, I was secretly stoked when my optometrist advised me that I had become slightly short-sighted (thanks in part to this whole blogging thing, as  I finally had a legitimate, albeit trivial, reason to wear a pair of wayfarers with a straight face.

In other news, I’m delighted to debut my much drooled after and Maison Martin Margiela x H&M Invisible Heel Boots. Inexplicably, I was immediately besotted with this shoe - the Perspex heel, the perfect pointed toe, the matte leather finish. Though the MMM x H&M collection had reportedly flatter sales than previous collaborations, it’s by far my personal favourite of all time.
