Lancome BB Complete Review

BB cream has been such a big thing in Asia for years now, so understandably I was really excited when western brands started to release their own versions of this fantastic product. Lancome has very recently released its BB Complete in Australia, boasting a ‘complete triple potency action’: Cover, Correct and Protect! This BB cream has become a favourite for me, and is great worn by itself or as a primer. Read on to find out more!

If you don’t know what ‘BB Cream’ is, check out my SKIN79 Lovely Girl BB Cream review for a bit of a background. In short, BB Cream it’s an all in one base makeup product that is designed to look natural and improve the health of your skin, and can be used in place of foundation for lighter coverage. Lancome BB Complete’s comes in two colours, 01 and 02. tone choices. 01 is designed for pale skin tones, and 02 is for skin with a yellow undertone. You can see the difference above. I have tanned skin, and having tried both, I haven’t noticed a great deal of difference. Both colours oxidize and blend well with my skin tone. So lets talk about Lancome BB Complete’s three main promises. ______________________________________________________________ Cover: The promise: “Carefully selected pigments instantly fade out lines, dullness and unevenness whilst leaving the complexion delicately dewy, ideally radiant, and perfectly translucent. The lightweight texture glides on smoothly correcting imperfections instantly and delivering visibly touchable smoother skin. Day after day, it reaches the ideal of a BB skin finish.” My experience: The coverage of Lancome BB Complete is light to medium. What I love about it is that it really does make the skin look more even in texture and gives it that translucent appearance. It also effectively reduces the look of light blemishes and under eye shadows. The finish is on the matte side, which I very much prefer, as my skin is prone to oiliness and shine. This would definitely be a great product for someone with oily or combination skin. Lancome BB Complete is also the perfect primer under powder foundation. It keeps the skin hydrated underneath, creates a smooth canvas and it holds on to the foundation, increasing its lasting power. ______________________________________________________________ Correct: The promise: “Enriched with an active pore-refining complex, the Blemish Balm acts on skin’s complexion to vanish imperfections, brighten and perfect its quality day after day. Skin looks visibly smoother, touchably softer, and healthily flawless.” My experience: Though I can’t attest to the specific promises of Lancome BB Complete, keeping your skin moisturised and nourished is all important, and this product keeps my skin feeling hydrated and comfortable all day long.  I did not experience any breakouts or excessive oiliness while using this BB cream. ______________________________________________________________ Protect: The promise: “Proven to be as light as four feathers on the skin, Lancôme’s UV Expert BB Complete SPF30 unique advance formula offers a powerful UV shield to actively protect the complexion. The exclusive GN-SHIELD® complex recreates a protective shield against UV rays to prevent deep causes of hyperpigmentation and premature aging. Now completed with Pollusafe™ and anti-free radicals actives to protect against external aggressions.” My experience: This is probably my favourite feature. With SPF30, this is one serious sun block that you can really trust. So this is my go to BB cream if I know that I’ll have to be in the sun throughout the day – I don’t have to tell you that sun protection is the best thing you can do for your skin. ______________________________________________________________ In Conclusion Lancome BB Complete is a fantastic everyday BB cream that feels comfortable to wear, effectively covers light blemishes, and offers a high level of sun and environmental protection. It’s also be a great primer under foundation, or an alternative to your dialy tinted moisturiser or sunblock. Lancome BB Complete hit the counters on 14 July 2013!
