Friday Review: GEO Aster (XTRA) Grey

Pin It Now! With all the circle lenses around right now with intricate multi-toned designs, it’s often easy to judge simpler looking lenses by first appearances. The GEO Aster (XTRA) circle lens series look deceptively ordinary, but are super unique and outrageously pretty. Today I’ll be showing you guys GEO Aster (XTRA) Grey.

When I took a first close up look at GEO Aster (XTRA) Grey, I was a bit dubious that it was actually a grey lens. It’s rather unique in that the grey pigments are not only sheer, but are applied in sparsely spaced dots. Only when you look very close can you see the little grey dots between the outer and inner rings. The design itself is also quite unique. The product description says that it’s like a blossoming flower, but to me the design looks a lot like flickering black flames. My first impression was that, first of all, the grey colour would probably not show up against my dark eyes, and second, that this lens wouldn’t look that natural. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
IMG_3661The black flame flicker design, while not the most natural looking, allow or a pretty and sparkly halo effect. IMG_3593The grey colour doesn’t show up as vividly as I would like, but I think this lens for me has a nice balance between being a subtle black circle lens and providing a hint of translucency and inner glow to my eyes.IMG_3605IMG_3641
I was also quite happy with the comfort level of this lens. They felt great worn all day.
