Tutorial: Sayoko Ozaki inspired smokey eyes

Pin It Now!

I’ve always loved ‘Happy Nuts’ model Sayoko Ozaki’s sexy eye makeup, and they make her eyes look absolutely massive. So today I’ve decided to do a Sayoko-chan inspired makeup look. It’s so easy, and you only need a few essential tools.

Step 1: Eye Shadow

You will pretty much only need two eye shadow tones, a very dark brown or grey and a highlight colour. Apply the dark shade generously over your eyelid where your eyeball sits, and also along the bottom of your eye – really go nuts with it. Then apply the highlight tone over your brow bone, and also on the inside corner of your eye.

Step 2: Eyeliner

Using a black pencil eyeliner, line the bottom outer edge of your eye.

A very well defined top eye line is key to this look. With a black liquid eyeliner, line the top of the eye, keeping the line as close as you can to the root of your top lashes. Extend the line about 1.5cm outside your eye line, flicking upwards as you go. Make sure you also line all the way to the inside edge of your eye.

Using white or shimmer eyeliner, highlight the inner corner of your eyes.

Step 3: Lashes

Use voluminous upper false eyelashes. I’m using Angel Wink lashes purchased from a local shop in Canberra. Dolly Wink No. 4 Feminine Style would also be prefect for this look.

Pack on black mascara to your lower lashes. Let dry and repeat a few times until they are clump together. Then to the outer edges of your eye apply false lower lashes. If you want, you could even apply lower lashes all the way along the bottom line. I used Dolly Wink No. 8 Pure Little.

Step 4: Finish touches

Apply light pink blush and a pink lippy. The lenses I’m wearing are Sakura Brown.

So as you can see, it’s so easy to do, so have fun with it! I’d love to see your photos if you try it :)
